Spread out your wings...

As I mentioned in a previous post, you won't have a sparkling future, unless you have a strong pessimistic attitude. Duh! Wouldn't it be more helpful, if you tell how to? Yes that's what exactly I'm going to talk about. Dust off the past and rise.

5 Tips to make a memorable first impression

"You never get a second chance to make a good first impression."

Let's face it. A relationship, an interview, a presentation... (you name it) requires a dazzling first impression to make it worth. Yes genius, thank you for clearing that up... the problem is how to? Well here's the squeezed juice of few rich websites. I'll take 5 tips, to focus on.

Android Programming - Goofing around II

Welcome to Android 101 - Goofing around part II. Let's sink our teeth into the structure of an Android Project in Eclipse environment. First of all it should look like this if you followed the procedure in "Android Programming - Goofing around I".

Take The First Step to Android - Set up the environment

So you want to learn Android. Good!
Because Android is making it's mark on the Mobile phone industry step by step. Therefore knowing Android will take you a long way.
First of all before learning how to program, let's set up the environment.

First of all, you need to download the Android SDK. You can find it here .
Find the SDK version that fits you the most.

I mostly prefer Eclipse for JAVA, Android. If you don't have Eclipse you can download it here.
Download Eclipse - Galileo

Now download ADT plugin for Eclipse here. This site guides you step by step through the procedure of how to install and configure ADT plugin.

Then you might get a window prompting you to select which APIs and other goodies to download for the ADT plugin.
If you don't you can go to Project -> Android SDK and AVD manager -> Available Packages.
Then select what you need.

So that's it. Have a nice day.

Grub Rescue mode - Ubuntu

Grub rescue mode prompt appears usually when you mess up with Linux or act out some weird stunt you wish you didn't. Well if you've already done it you can't change the time. Oh! By the way this could also happen if you've deleted the recovery partition and try to access it on the grub prompt. Which was my case.

Well, like anyone else I googled googled and googled. Many suggests to find an Ubuntu live CD and run it, by that we can reinstall Grub. But you may experience with some weird error, (actually a bug) which causes the PC not to detect CD-ROM. Besides it's too complex.

So if you are the victim of the above scenario, well you've come to the right place.
Then the easiest thing to do is,

1. Find a Windows (7 or Vista) Recovery Disk.
2. Boot from CD
3. Then you'll be presented with an option window.

4. Choose the Startup Repair. Follow the instructions and see if the system has any errors. If there are fix them.
5. Reboot (see if that worked)
6. If not, Choose Command Prompt, Then type following 3 commands.
bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /fixboot
bootrec /rebuildbcd
7. Then run Startup repair again. (Just to be on the safe side)

Now the grub should be reinstalled. Problem solved.

If you watch backwards....

If you watch Home Alone backwards, it’s a story about two men who are helped out of traps by a young child, who then cleans them up. Then, the child’s family comes home and yells at him.

If you watch The Dark Knight backwards, it’s about a man with a half burned body falling into fire and becoming whole again while a clown and a man in a bat suit become best friends.

If you watch Spider Man backwards, it’s about a super hero who gets bitten by a spider and loses his powers.

If you watch Back to the Future backwards, it’s about a boy who leaves his cool family to travel back in time to break up his mom and dad only to return back to the present and enjoy an obnoxious family.

You’re not watching Chuck Norris movies backwards, Chuck Norris is watching YOU go backwards.

If you watch Jurassic Park backwards, it’s the heartwarming tale of scientists and dinosaurs working together to build an amusement park. Then the people betray the dinosaurs, putting them in cages and ultimately flying back to Montana to bury any evidence they existed at all.

If you watch Saw backwards, it is a truly amazing and touching story about one man providing countless limbs for the disabled.

If you watch Transformers backwards, it’s about a boy having to take his car back to the showroom after it turns out to be a robot.

If you watch Superman backwards, it is about a guy who flies around, putting people into precarious situations, then hiding.

If you watch Twilight backwards, the movie still sucks.

Note: I've to admit, a whole lot of credits should be given to the guy came up with the last one. LOL

How exactly should you look at your life...

I woke up early today, excited over all I get to do before the clock strikes midnight. I have responsibilities to fulfill today. I am important. My job is to choose what kind of day I am going to have.
