[Unable to resolve target 'android-1'] Eclipse ADT Error Message

 

So far I've pushed you to take one big step to goof around and getting to know things. So you're all set to go. You take a deep breath, and start your very first Android Project; sauntering through a world embellished with amazing, viable ideas for applications. But what if, you see,

Unable to resolve target 'android-X' 

The whole world would be obliterated. And probably that emerging Android developer will hit the dust. Hopefully you will not jump off a cliff.
But dont you worry anymore. You can still become an Android developer, because here's what you can do if you get this message.

Credible reason for the above irritating message  can be a Compatibility issue with the Android SDK you are using currently. The message can manifest itself with different values for X.

So other than cursing your computer or start kicking it, here's a more feasible and productive solution.

Unable to resolve target 'android-3' ==> install SDK Platform Android 1.5
Unable to resolve target 'android-4' ==> install SDK Platform Android 1.6
Unable to resolve target 'android-5' ==> install SDK Platform Android 2.0
Unable to resolve target 'android-6' ==> install SDK Platform Android 2.0.1
Unable to resolve target 'android-7' ==> install SDK Platform Android 2.1
Unable to resolve target 'android-8' ==> install SDK Platform Android 2.2
Unable to resolve target 'android-9' ==> install SDK Platform Android 2.3
Unable to resolve target 'android-10' ==> install SDK Platform Android 2.3.3
Unable to resolve target 'android-11' ==> install SDK Platform Android 3.0
Unable to resolve target 'android-12' ==> install SDK Platform Android 3.1

Hopefully the error will go away.
